Finance Director

Anthea is responsible for the financial, operational and administration side of Better2Know.

Prior to acquiring Better2Know in April 2011, Anthea was Strategic Management Advisor, at St Walburg’s Hospital, Tanzania. Anthea prepared the management and strategic plan for the hospital, advising on appropriate clinical services, manpower and financing strategies for the organisation.

Before going to Tanzania, Anthea was Group Director of Finance at the Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences (Cels), a company focussed on Healthcare and Biomedical translational research. During her five year tenure working at Cels, Anthea managed the group’s financial and administrative services, was responsible for all HR functions and all legal matters. She was integral in strategic business planning, financial planning, performance monitoring, risk assessment, business continuity planning and internal audit. She was also Company Secretary for all group companies.

Prior to joining Cels, Anthea was Financial Controller at Citizens Advice working in both London and Newcastle upon Tyne. Anthea had responsibility for the production of Financial Statutory Accounts and responsibility for compliance with financial procedures, policy and protocol. She developed and implemented accounting systems and policies to meet business and technological changes and also had responsibility for the professional training of other accountants in the department.

Anthea is currently a member of NHS Doncaster CCG Governing Body as the Patient and Public Engagement Representative, and Treasurer of the Family Planning Association (FPA) in London.

Anthea is a graduate of the University of Nottingham BSc (Hons) where she earned her degree in Mathematics, the University of Durham where she was awarded an MA in Management and the University of Northumbria where she secured an LLM Commercial Law. Anthea is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
