Mike is responsible for strategy and development of Better2Know.
Mike has worked in healthcare and biotechnology for over 20 years. Before acquiring Better2Know, Mike was Chief Executive at the Centre of Excellence for Life Sciences (Cels) with responsibility for driving the Life Sciences economy across the North East of England. Mike focussed on building collaborations with University research centres, identifying new technologies with market potential and creating new businesses and spin outs. Mike also worked extensively with regional government negotiating funding, regional development strategies and developing plans for regional and national growth.
Prior to Cels, Mike worked with the NHS and developed the Commissioning Business Service based in Manchester. The CBS was a new organisation created behalf of the 14 Manchester Primary Care Trusts to support the commissioning of health services across Greater Manchester. The business was scaled to support a £2 billion annual budget for health services across Greater Manchester.
Before this, Mike was CEO of Drew Scientific, a LSE listed medical diagnostics company that developed and sold instrumentation and reagents for diabetes, haematology and clinical chemistry analysis.
Mike has been chairman and non-executive director on the boards of numerous healthcare and life sciences companies and in addition to acting as Chairman and CEO for Better2Know is on the Board of two companies active in the field of Stem Cells.
Mike attended Millfield School in the United Kingdom before pursuing degrees in Hispanic Literature and Economics at Brown University in the United States. After working in the US for a number of years, Mike went to IESE in Barcelona where he earned his MBA. Mike is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Italian.
