How is your thyroid profile tested?

You will be required to provide a blood sample, which will then be sent off to our accredited country laboratory for analysis.

What tests will be run on my sample?

Our Thyroid Profile test will measure:

  • Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH). This controls production of thyroid hormones: thyroxine and triiodothyronine

  • Free thyroxine (FT4). This hormone controls the rate of metabolism and can assist in determining whether the thyroid is functioning properly

How will I receive my test results?

Your confidential thyroid profile test results will be ready within one working day of your samples arrival at our certified laboratory. To access your results, you can log on to your secure patient area on our website. As soon as all of your results are ready, a member of our Patient Services team will contact you.

What should I do if my result reveals an overactive or underactive thyroid gland?

You should speak to a doctor about your results if your test reveals an underactive or overactive thyroid gland. You may be prescribed medication to regulate your thyroid activity, and further tests may be recommended to ensure the success of treatment.
