What is Lyme disease?
Lyme disease is an infection caused by Borrelia bacteria found in infected ticks. It can be spread to humans by these ticks. The Borrelia Antibodies IgG/IgM test checks for Lyme Disease in a person. This kit needs someone to take your blood sample for you.

How does the Lyme disease test work?
The Borrelia Antibodies IgG/IgM test kit includes everything that your healthcare professional needs to collect your blood sample for you. You may then send the sample to an accredited laboratory using the pre-paid envelope also included in the kit. Within 2 business days of the sample’s arrival at the lab, the results will be available.
What tests are run on my sample?
We test your sample for Borrelia antibodies. Any presence of these antibodies will determine that your immune system is fighting or has fought Lyme disease infection.
When will my test kit arrive?
If you order a test kit before end of business hours Monday-Friday, it will be sent out that same day via An Post and take 2 to 4 days to reach you. You can track your package by selecting Special Delivery at checkout.
How will I receive my test results?
When the results are ready, a Better2Know representative will contact you directly through your preselected mode of communication (SMS, email, or by phone). Once the results are available, you may also access them at your convenience using your confidential log-in to our secure patient platform.
What should I do with my results?
Better2Know offers a follow-up service that helps you schedule a consultation with a private doctor or general practitioner in your area. During this appointment, the doctor will provide a thorough analysis of your results and advise you if treatment is necessary. Additional testing may be needed.
