Product Information

What is testosterone?

Testosterone is a sex hormone that primarily focuses on developing physical male characteristics on the bod. In men, it is produced in the testes serves many functions, such as controlling bone mass, muscle mass, fat distribution, strength, libido regulation, and the production of sperm and red blood cells. After age 30, men experience decreased levels of testosterone, but unnaturally low levels can cause complications. Such low levels are often caused by liver disease, notable alcohol consumption, and steroid use, and they may ultimately cause infertility, erectile dysfunction, muscle loss, and changes in fat distribution. In pubescent boys, low testosterone can delay puberty.

Women produce smaller amounts of testosterone in their ovaries when compared to men, so elevated testosterone levels in women’s bodies can cause different issues. Women may experience scalp hair thinning, menstrual abnormality, weight gain, increased body hair growth, and an increased risk of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). In pubescent girls, high testosterone levels can delay puberty and therefore menstruation.

Why consider a Testosterone Test?

The Better2Know Testosterone Test measures testosterone levels for men and women. If you are experiencing or are concerned about decreased libido, ED, PCOS, or any of the symptoms listed above, we recommend you take this test. The Testosterone Test can help determine the root cause of these issues and help you manage or eradicate them.
