Which tests are included?
The Better2Know home sample collection Genital Warts test can detect 6 Low-Risk Types of the HPV Virus, including types 6 and 11 which are the most common causes of Genital Warts. It can also detect 14 High-Risk types of HPV.
Is the Genital Warts test accurate?
This is an accurate test performed in our accredited laboratory. Collecting your sample is the most important step, and we provide detailed instructions on how to do this.
How does this test work?
This test requires you to take a swab of your suspected wart. After you have bought your test online, we will post your discreet test pack to your home (the postal pack is plain so no one will know what it is). Inside the pack, you will find everything you need to collect the sample, including the instructions, a postage-paid return envelope, and a pathology form. The instructions will show you how to collect your sample. You must follow the instructions on the leaflet carefully. We will contact you when your results are ready, but you can log on and check online whenever you like.
What if I want a vaginal test for HPV?
Please order your vaginal test here.
When will my test kit arrive?
If you order your test before 4pm Monday to Friday, we will send your kit to you on the same day. Depending on where you live, your test should arrive in the next 2 to 5 days.
How long before I get my results?
Your results should be ready online within 5 working days from when your sample arrives at the laboratory.
What happens if my test shows the presence of the virus?
We can arrange an appointment with a Doctor so that you can discuss the results and get a prescription for the required medication (there will be a small fee for this), or you can take your results to your doctor.
Is testing for STDs through Better2Know confidential?
Yes. Your results and details are 100% confidential and we will not inform your GP or anyone else without your permission.
How long should I wait after an encounter before getting this STD test?
This test is suitable when you have a suspected wart which can be swabbed to test for the HPVs that cause Genital Warts.
