What is the TPPA test for Syphilis?
The TPPA test (Treponema Pallidum Particle Agglutination) test is a confirmatory Syphilis test that specifically detects antibodies to the syphilis-causing bacteria. This test can also help to determine if your infection is in its secondary or tertiary phase.
This test is usually ordered after a positive result from a Syphilis screening test to verify whether the patient has a current and active Syphilis infection, or if the positive result obtained on the screening test was due to a past but now cured infection.
