What is an Early Platinum Screen?
Better2Know’s Early Platinum Screen is our most comprehensive and effective screening package. It has accurate results just 2 weeks after you had sex or any other incident. It contains tests that detect 11 different STIs that may lead to long-term negative health outcomes. The screen is designed to give you quick and reliable test results.
Why consider an Early Platinum Screen?
If you are concerned about a recent sexual encounter and want to get a clear view of your sexual health, the Early Platinum Screen will give you the results you need. While some Better2Know STI screens require four weeks to pass after an incident of concern, the Early Platinum Screen will be effective and reliable only 2 weeks after the incident in question.
How does this screen work?
The Early Platinum Screen requires a blood and urine sample. When you arrive at your Better2Know clinic for your appointment, a trained nurse will take your blood sample, and you will be given a container to provide a urine sample in private. No uncomfortable swabs are required, and there is no need to fast to take this screen.
How will I receive my Early Platinum Screen results?
After your sample has been analyzed by our accredited laboratory, you can access your results online by logging into your secure Patient Area on our website. You can also be notified of your results by SMS or email.
What should I do with my results?
If you test positive for any of the infections listed above, Better2Know will help you access the care and treatment you need. We can arrange a consultation with a doctor who can discuss your diagnosis and provide medication and treatment.
If you test positive for certain infections like HIV or Hepatitis B, we will refer you to a specialist who can help you with ongoing treatment.
If you wish, you can also take your results to your own doctor for a second opinion.
