I have had Chlamydia. Am I now immune?

If you have had these symptoms before you have had Chlamydia in the past and if you are having those symptoms again, then it could be a recurrence. You are not immune to Chlamydia after having it once. There are lots of factors that play into the recurrence of the disease. Some of those being

• The first infection was not treated properly because the antibiotics prescribed were not completed as directed.

Many people will become reinfected with chlamydia, even if they have had it before. You cannot become immune to catching chlamydia.
