Chlamydia (PCR on Urine)
This urine test is for individuals who think they might have a Chlamydia infection. This test identifies the DNA of the Chlamydia bacteria that will be present in the urine of any infected person.
This test can accurately and dependably detect a Chlamydia infection 14 days after the initial exposure, even if you are not currently experiencing any symptoms. The test does not require swabs or blood samples.
When you arrive at your appointment at our clinic, you will be asked to provide a urine sample. If necessary, a skilled medical professional will be available to assist you. It is important that you do not urinate for at least two hours prior to your appointment.
Once we have collected your sample, we will send it to our certified laboratory for testing. When they are ready, your results will be uploaded to your secure online Patient Area, and we will also inform you that you results are ready through your choice of a phone call, email, or text message. Please keep in mind that the results will be ready about 2 days after the laboratory receives your sample.
If your Chlamydia test results are positive, your Better2Know doctor will prescribe medication to treat the infection.
