Product Information

Three reasons to choose the Better2Know Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Rectal Swab test:

  • This test is for men and women who have received anal sex
  • The Better2Know Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea Rectal Swab test provides accurate results whether you have symptoms or not
  • This test is the only way to know if you have a Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea infection in your anus

What does the test include?

This test will identify the presence of the genetic material of Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea bacteria that cause Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea infections in your anus.

If you believe you may have a Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea infection in your throat or genitals, you may want to get the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea by Urine or the Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea by Throat Swab.

How long should I wait before getting tested?

If you have symptoms of an infection, you can get tested right away. Otherwise, we suggest that you wait 14 days before getting tested. Waiting until after the 14-day incubation period will ensure that your result is accurate.

How do I book an appointment?

You can book an appointment by clicking the “Book Your Appointment” button and following the steps provided. Alternatively, if you are struggling with your test selection or booking, you can call our helpful patient advice team on the number at the top of this page. They are here to help you begin your journey to better sexual health.

What can I expect during the clinic appointment?

When you get to your clinic for your appointment, a medical professional will give you instructions on how to swab your anus for testing. You can ask them any questions on how to so this and will be able to collect your sample yourself in private.

When will I get my test results?

Once you have collected your sample, the clinic will send it to our certified laboratory for testing. Results take from two working days to become available after the laboratory receives your sample.

How will I receive my results?

When your results are ready, we will contact you through your choice of email, telephone call or SMS. You can access them through your secure online patient area when they are ready. You can also check the status of your results by logging into to your portal at any time.

What if I test positive?

Do not worry. If you are diagnosed with a Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea infection your doctor at Better2Know can assist you in obtaining the needed medication needed to treat the infection. If you have any other worries or questions about your diagnosis, you can contact our patient advice team at any time.
