Who is the Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma test for?
This urine test is designed for men and women who suspect they may have a Mycoplasma or a Ureaplasma infection. These are available as a combined test.
What does the test include?
The PCR test detects the presence of the Mycoplasma and/ or Ureaplasma bacteria that causes infection within your urinary and reproductive tracts.
This test is most effective if you get tested 14 days after the initial exposure.
How do I schedule my appointment?
To book a test, please click on the ”Get Started” button and carefully follow the provided instructions. You will be asked to select your nearest sexual health clinic.
What can I expect at my appointment?
Upon arrival at your chosen clinic, you will be asked to provide a urine sample. Before your appointment, please ensure that you can provide a sample, we suggest not urinating for at least two hours.
What happens to my sample?
Your sample will be tested at our certified laboratory. It takes up to five days for the results to be available after the laboratory receives your sample.
How will I receive my test results?
Your test results will be uploaded to your secure online Patient Area once they are ready. We will notify you via your preferred method of communication, which can be a telephone call, email, or SMS. You can log in to check your results at any time.
What if I test positive?
If your test results indicate a positive result for Mycoplasma and/ or Ureaplasma, your Better2Know doctor will assist you in accessing appropriate medication to treat the infection.
